Ahh the good ole Sales Tax...

So many of us have been confused over this subject for years. We have seen our professional friends, and sometimes ourselves be caught up in audits when they THOUGHT they were doing everything right. It is a discussion in groups and chat rooms all the time with conflicting information each has heard, or been told by an accountant. New people coming into the business are just as baffled about how to get a permit, why you have to have one, who has to have one, how to file, and many other questions.

The APPA has decided that it is time to hear it directly from someone who knows - the Sales and Use Tax Division. They will be sending a speaker to our event on February 27 to speak and answer questions. They know photographers in particular are having problems with this. They audit hundreds of photographers every year and we almost never have it right. They were excited to be able to help us!

Join us at 12:00 for a potluck meal before the speaker, and stay after to meet other photographers and discuss photography and business. Bring your questions and be ready to take on 2017 better prepared to run your business - no matter how big or small.
